Stroke - Knowing this can save a life!
Today something serious.
According to neurologists there are 4 questions which determine if a person has had a stroke and which therefore help getting this person into emergency services within 3 hours after the stroke to avoid/minimize it's effects or even death.
- Ask the person to smile. After a stroke this is not or only partly possible.
- Ask the person to repeat an easy sentence, i.e. Today is very beautiful weather. After a stroke the person will only partly or not at all be able to repeat it correctly.
- Ask the person to lift both arms at the same time. After a stroke this is not or only partly possible.
- Ask the person to loll out his/her tongue. A curved tongue is a sign for s stroke.
Let's hope you never need to ask those questions....
