Scherben bringen Glück

In Germany we have the saying 'Scherben bringen Glück', meaning 'Pieces of broken glass bring luck'. And as I had many many of those pieces lately, I will make this my first blog entry.
On April 17th, one hour before leaving to the airport to fly to South Africa, the shelve in my kitchen felt from the wall!
Just BANG!
It was hanging there for 6 years, all my nice blue dishes, glasses and some pieces I was really hanging on where standing on it, nobody did anything to the shelve, but hey, it just felt down...
So lots of broken glass, lots of luck!!!

1 - That is definately a German saying. Or maybe Greek, apparently Russians also like to break things and call it good luck. This I heard from the Belgian girl who works here (with German mother, hence I asked her about this interesting and slightly disturbing national characteristic). So what do you do at a Casino? (Comment this)
